About you
As a member of the Metadata team, you will work in a client-focused environment, contributing to the acquisition, description, and access of State Library's physical, digital, and electronic collections to ensure they are discoverable, accessible, usable, and preserved - now and into the future.
Depending on your assigned unit, your key focus may include: Acquisitions and technical support, eresource management, or descriptive metadata creation.
What you will do
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Creating informative and connected descriptive records for State Library's physical, digital, and electronic materials, in accordance with local, national, and international standards, to ensure collections are discoverable and accessible through library catalogues
- Creating and maintaining acquisition records for all materials and collections, including electronic subscriptions - this involves processing invoices, actioning renewals, setting up access to electronic materials, claiming serials, and maintaining vendor and licence records
- Ensuring the acquisition of physical and electronic legal deposit works, including liaising with publishers, undertaking holdings analysis, and managing ingests from the National edeposit (NED) system
- Importing, enhancing, and maintaining all records for Public Library Collections to ensure users across Queensland can discover and access a high-quality range of resources through Rural Libraries Queensland and Indigenous Knowledge Centres
- Contributing to a positive and safe work environment by demonstrating conduct that is culturally capable, inclusive, respectful, and ethical.
To be considered for this role, you are required to hold a relevant or related qualification and be eligible for technical membership of the Australian Library and information Association (ALIA).
