Lead, First Nations Programming (Identified: Australian First Nations)

kuril dhagun is State Library's dedicated cultural space where First Nations communities meet, gather and celebrate.
As Lead, First Nations Programming you will develop and deliver creative programs, events and community engagement activities to activate kuril dhagun, working with a dedicated team and alongside State Library colleagues.
You will be experienced in creating welcoming, inclusive and respectful spaces for engagement and participation.
You will also be a creative leader who can identify and create opportunities for cultural learning and celebration through creative programs across State Library.

About You
As a member of our First Nations Programming team you will lead a team in the delivery of creative and high-quality programs, events and exhibitions across State Library including kuril dhagun, a dedicated cultural and multi-use space where First Nations communities meet, gather and celebrate.
Key focuses of this role will be building engagement with First Nations communities and leading a team to deliver a safe and welcoming, inclusive and respectful environment that promotes visitor understanding, participation and engagement
What you will do
Your key responsibilities will be:
- Leading a high performing team in the development and delivery of creative, engaging and high-quality programs that deliver on the strategic objectives of State Library including those in the First Nations Strategy.
- Overseeing community engagement and activities in kuril dhagun that promote community participation and engagement, ensuring an inclusive, safe and positive experience for visitors.
- Actively establishing and maintaining robust and respectful relationships with Elders and First Nations communities across Queensland and working in collaboration with other State Library teams in the development and delivery of programs.
- Researching and analysing information to provide quality high level advice and reports to Director, Activation on client satisfaction, visitation and participation targets and operational strategic objectives.
- Contributing to a positive and safe work environment by ensuring conduct that is culturally capable, inclusive, respectful and ethical.
