Remuneration value up to $140,297p.a., comprising salary between $113,261 - $122,964 p.a., employer contribution to superannuation (up to 12.75%) and annual leave loading (17.5%) (Nurse Grade 7) (Applications will remain current for 12 months). Job Ad Reference: TC300935

Purpose of the role:

The Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) is responsible for the provision of high quality, evidence based, cost effective and culturally responsive nursing services delivered by the Maternity unit and Ambulatory Care Services, in liaison with Nurse Unit Manager General Ward, Clinical Midwifery Consultant Maternity.

The NUM acts as a role model, mentor and advocate for nursing staff.

The role will provide operational support for the Midwifery Group Practice as, well as Ambulatory Care services and it would be advantageous to have skills in both areas.

This position has operational and joint line management for staff across Maternity and Ambulatory Care, including staffing establishment.

This position is responsible for monitoring budget integrity through maintaining appropriate staffing levels and monitoring consumable, pharmaceutical and material usage across the cost centres for Maternity and Outpatients.

This position reports operationally and professionally to the Eastern Director of Nursing and Midwifery Services.

  • It is a condition of employment for this role for the employee to be, and remain, vaccinated/immune against the following vaccine preventable diseases during their employment: measles, mumps, rubella, varicella (chicken pox), pertussis (whooping cough), hepatitis B.
