An exciting opportunity has become available for a Manager within TIQ's Southern Regional Network, where you will be responsible for managing the Southern Regional team in conjunction with the Director and international investment attraction activities of the Greater Brisbane regions. As well as, operating as a Tradestart Advisor to support exporters make informed decisions, gather and analyse information from a variety of sources to assist with exporters market selection.

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Manage the Regional Network's southern area in conjunction with the Director, Regional Network to drive trade and investment commercial outcomes and contribute to the administrative and operational management including reporting on activities and outcomes
  • Provide advice on trade and investment issues and opportunities for the Regional Network's southern region
  • Prepare policy papers, briefs and reports for management review and consideration
  • Provide and update opportunity specific information using TIQ's CRM and other protocols and regularly report business outcomes to senior management
  • Work with the Director, Regional Network to facilitate TIQ's regional network yearly planning, budgeting and forecasting processes
  • Establish and maintain effective communication strategies, protocols, stakeholder negotiation and liaison activities across cultures and other private and public sector organisations
  • Lead the implementation of state, and where relevant, Australian Government trade and investment programs and initiatives (including the delivery of workshops) in the Southern Region as required
  • Provide advice as a TradeStart Adviser to SME's on export development, export pathways and support business to deliver trade outcomes for Queensland in the greater Brisbane region
  • Work with Regional Network colleagues to research and analyse regional export (business and industry) opportunities, developing planning activities and strategies to deliver on regional and state-wide trade and investment priorities
  • Develop and foster effective relationships with key stakeholders across local, state and federal agencies, and industry, to continue to build commitment to long term growth
  • Lead and influence key regional stakeholders to develop industry and market development opportunities by providing high quality specialist advice and building commitment to long term growth
  • Represent TIQ and TradeStart on regional inter-departmental, national and industry committees and present and participate in key government and business forums

Responsibilities and duties of the TradeStart adviser function include, but are not limited to:

  • Providing practical advice to export ready businesses based on your own experience and using your network
  • Identify export businesses across key industry sectors and provide advice on export readiness
  • Evaluate capability and commitment of local businesses in relation to export market development.
  • Provide one to one client management of export businesses providing specialist export development advice, general business development assistance and referrals to third party providers.
  • Recommend tailored business development programs based on an understanding of export business's needs.
  • Analyse current trends, industry and global market intelligence providing strategic advice to the Austrade network of industry and market developments that impact export activities in your region

This role may require additional duties to be completed as directed
