Townsville Offender Health Service is seeking a Nurse Practitioner Candidate to join our team at the Townsville Correctional Centre. Please note it is a mandatory requirement for applicants to be enrolled in a Master of Nursing Science (Nurse Practitioner).

About your opportunity
The Nurse Practitioner Candidate – Offender Health Service, within credentialed scope of practice provides nursing leadership, clinical governance, case management and complex clinical care and support for patients within the correctional environment. The majority of health care provided to patients in the custodial setting is based within a model of primary health care and predominantly relates to the management of chronic disease, infectious disease, co-morbidity (alcohol and drug addiction and mental health service) and the provision of acute care as required.

Mandatory Role Requirements

  • Bachelor of Nursing and current AHPRA registration.
  • Demonstrated completence and clinical experience within the relevant clinical specialty at an advanced level.
  • Enrolment in a Master of Nursing Science (Nurse Practitioner) course.
  • The successful applicant will be required to work the roster including weekends if rostered.

Generous remuneration package value up to $11,439 p.m. comprising salary range of $4235.40 to $4598.20 p.f. (Nurse Grade 7), 17.5% leave loading, 12.75 % employer contribution to superannuation.
