Mental Health Team Leader (Ingham)


Ingham Community Mental Health Service provides community based and acute treatment mental health services across the lifespan including adults, children and young people, older people, people who come in contact with the criminal justice system, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples and people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.

We are seeking a Leader to join our specialist service. Applications are sought from: Clinical Nurse Consultants, Psychologists, Social Workers and Occupational Therapists.

About your opportunity
The Ingham Community Mental Health Service (ICMHS) provide a specialist and recovery orientated mental health service to consumers with moderate to severe mental health problems and their families. The team is multi-disciplinary and works across the life-span to promote social and emotional wellbeing. The service area encompasses Ingham and the surrounding communities from Kennedy in the north to Rollingstone in the south.

As the Team Leader, you will provide a high quality specialist, case management mental health service to people with serious mental health problems and their families in Ingham, Cardwell and surrounds in keeping with national and state requirements. This position supports the implementation of the Model of Service Delivery, National and State Mental Health policies and plans through active participation of appropriate service delivery activities.

Role Requirements:

  • For Nursing - Bachelor of Nursing and current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • For Social Work - must hold at least a tertiary degree (or equivalent) qualification from an accredited tertiary institution in Social Work as well as eligibility for full memberships to the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).
  • For Psychology - must possess a four year degree in Psychology (Honours, Graduate Diploma) from an accredited tertiary institution and current registration with the Psychology Board of Australia.
  • For Occupational Therapy - must hold a tertiary degree (or equivalent) qualification from an accredited tertiary institution in Occupational Therapy and current registration with the Occupational Therapist Board Australia (AHPRA).
  • Eligibility for appointment as an Authorised Mental Health Practitioner under the Mental Health Act 2016.
  • 'C' class motor vehicle licence.

Generous remuneration package value up to $143,881 p.a. comprising salary range of $120,856 to $126,105 p.a. (HP5), 17.5% leave loading, 12.75 % employer contribution to superannuation.
