Can you deliver high level Cardiac Investigation clinical services (in adult echocardiography) and leadership within a Cardiac Investigations Unit? We are seeking a senior clinician to be at the forefront of an exciting, developing department in beautiful North Queensland.

About the role

  • Provide Adult Echocardiography OR Cardiac Electrophysiology services of a complex nature.
  • Apply independent professional judgement to a complex caseload, adapting routine clinical practice based on valid and reliable evidence.
  • Participate in clinical research and professional development activities.
  • Supervise, assist and validate investigation results of HP3 level Cardiac Scientists working within the Cardiac Investigation unit.


  • The successful applicant must hold at least a relevant tertiary degree (or equivalent) qualification with a strong component of human anatomy and physiology, from a recognised tertiary institution.
  • Appointment to this position requires proof of qualification and registration or membership (if applicable) with the appropriate registration authority or association.
  • While not mandatory the following would be well regarded:
    -       Registration with the Australian Sonography Accreditation Registry or be eligible for registration as an Accredited Medical Sonographer or Student in Cardiac Sonography.
    -       Vocational qualifications in Electrophysiology i.e. CEPIA or IBHRE.
  • It is a mandatory condition of employment for the employee to be and remain vaccinated against COVID-19, as per Health Employment Directive 12/21 and Queensland Health Human Resources Policy B70.
