About your opportunity

This is a Permanent full time position.

This position will provide high quality clinical and non-clinical Anaesthesia services to benefit the patients / clients of the Townsville HHS; including research as well as teaching the health professionals of the future. Additionally, work in a collaborative partnership with the Director of Anaesthesia, to provide strategic planning, global budget management, human resource management and professional education to the Department of Anaesthesia. Some travel may be required for service delivery at other facilities within the Townsville HHS. The successful applicant would hold a FANZCA qualification.

Generous remuneration package value up to $450,857 p.a. comprising:

  • Salary range of $164,571 to $239,377 p.a. (L13-L27) Level of appointment is dependent upon experience and advanced qualifications.
  • Annual leave with 17.5% loading
  • 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation.

Plus Clinical Managers allowance of $18,876 p.a. (CM4).

Other employment benefits may include: recreational leave loading (17.5%), employer contribution to superannuation (12.75%), attraction and retention incentive allowance, regional and rural attraction allowance, motor vehicle allowance, and professional development assistance (allowances and leave).

Requirements

  • It is a mandatory requirement to be and to remain vaccinated against COVID-19.
  • Qualified as a medical practitioner with specialist qualifications and registration, or eligible for registration, as a specialist with the Medical Board of Australia in the appropriate discipline.
  • All applicants must be awarded SoCP by the THHS Credentialing and SoCP committee. All appointments are subject to maintenance of SoCP within the Clinical Services Capability Framework for the facilities in which clinical work is to be undertaken. 
  • A class C motor vehicle licence.
  • This position may require the incumbent to work at other facilities within the THHS.
  • Candidates who will be obtaining fellowship in the near future are encouraged to apply. Appointment will be at a lower classification level until minimum requirements for the Staff Specialist classification are obtained.
  • This is a Vaccine Preventable Diseases (VPD) risk role: Hepatitis B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, and Pertussis.
  • Probation period may apply.
  • Pre-employment checks will be conducted.
