Infection Control Officer (Respiratory Fit Testing)

The Infection Prevention and Control Unit provides monitoring, advice and guidance across the Townsville Hospital and Health Service (THHS).

The Respiratory Protection Program (RPP) provides respiratory fit tests and checks for staff who work in high-risk areas of the THHS. This respiratory protection is provided via a fitting and testing process of selected and approved P2/N95 respirators which are designed to protect the staff who are required to implement airborne precautions whilst performing work functions.

About your opportunity

This is a front facing role providing an exceptional and accurate service to staff across the HHS. The successful applicant must have outstanding customer service skills.

This position is providing a quantitative respiratory fit testing service to all relevant staff; ensuring such staff are appropriately fitted to P2/N95 respirators which provide full protection from respiratory hazards during the course of their work.

Generous remuneration package value up to $81,478 p.a. comprising:

  • Salary range of $67,462 to $71,412 p.a. (OO3)
  • 17.5% loading + leave
  • 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation.

Requirements

  • Aged Care Pre-Employment Screening: Applicants are advised this position works in an identified Aged Care Facility as per the Aged Care Act 1997 and therefore requires employees and volunteers to have a current National Police Certificate. Queensland Health will facilitate applicants obtaining the above National Police Certificate.
  • Drivers Licence: This position requires the incumbent to operate a class C motor vehicle and an appropriate license endorsement to operate this vehicle is required. Proof of this endorsement must be provided prior to the commencement of duty.
  • Travel: Travel by light aircraft may be required.
  • This is a Vaccine Preventable Diseases (VPD) risk role: Hepatitis A/B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, and Pertussis.
