About the opportunity:
Position: Registered Nurse - Post Anaesthetic Care Unit
Vacancy: Permanent full-time, 76 hours p.f.
Location: Post Anaesthetic Care Unit, Townsville University Hospital
The purpose of the Registered Nurse in PACU is to provide post operative cares to patients immediately following general/regional anaesthetics. The Registered Nurse is to provide direct nursing care utilising clinical skills, education and support to patients/clients and nursing staff within the 18-bed bay Post Anaesthetic Care Unit (PACU) to ensure the provision of best practice and quality patient care.

- Salary range: $3171.90 to $4068.50 p.f. (Nurse Grade 5)
- 4 to 6 weeks annual leave with 14%-17.5% loading
- 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation

Requirements:
- Qualification: Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent certification relevant to the position is mandatory.
- Highly Desirable: Possession of a relevant postgraduate qualification in an appropriate field is highly desirable. Such experience may be discipline specific or have a service area focus.
- Adult Life Support certificate: Must be able to obtain and then maintain an annual competency in Advanced Life Support as per THHSCLI040151 Life Support Training and Assessment.
- Shift Workers: Appointees will be required to work all shifts in accordance with the unit roster, which will include participation in an on-call roster.
- This is a Vaccine Preventable Disease (VPD) risk role.
- Probation period may apply.
- Pre-employment checks will be conducted.
