Townsville Hospital and Health Service, is the public healthcare provider for the government areas of Townsville, Burdekin, Charters Towers, Flinders, Richmond, Hinchinbrook and Palm Island. We operate 21 facilities from primary care in regional locations to highly specialised care at the main hospital.

Charters Towers Health Service (CTHS), Building, Engineering and Maintenance Services (BEMS) is seeking an enthusiastic team member to join the BEMS Rural division. This position will provide and maintain high quality plant and infrastructure facilities supporting patient care and staff accommodation throughout the Townsville Hospital and Health Service (THHS)..

Position: Maintenance Officer

Vacancy: Permanent full-time

Location: Charters Towers

About the role:

As a qualified tradesperson you will be required to undertake work (relevant to your trade qualification) as required in construction and maintenance of buildings, plant and equipment across THHS Rural Facilities.

Enjoy a generous remuneration package value up to $103,065 p.a. comprising:

  • Salary range: $2806.60 to $3462.40 p.f. (HBEA10-HBEA6)
  • Annual leave with 17.5% loading
  • 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation
  • Plus Salary Sacrificing options may be available

Requirements:

  • Possession of a Queensland trade certificate is mandatory for this position.
  • Highly desirable:
    • Possession of a boiler attendant certification and relevant experience.
    • Possession of a Restricted Electrical Work Licence.
    • Asbestos awareness training and experience in the refurbishment/ sealing requirements of asbestos sheeting.
  • Possession of class C drivers' licence.
  • This is a Vaccine Preventable Disease (VPD) risk role. Hepatitis A/B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Tuberculosis.
  • Probation period may apply.
  • Pre-employment checks will be conducted including criminal history clearance and Aged Care Pre-Employment Screening.
