About the opportunity:
Position: Clinical Nurse (ATODS)
Vacancy: Temporary Full-time from 14/07/2025 to 29/09/2025 with the possibility of an extension
Location: Consultation and Liaison Psychiatry and Addictions Service / Mental Health Service Group / Townsville University Hospital
The team provides a mental health service to all treatment areas of the Townsville Hospital. The team consists of a Consultant Psychiatrist, Psychiatric Registrar, Psychologist, Clinical Nurse Consultant and Clinical Nurses.

- Salary range: $4138.10 to $4431.10 p.f. (Nurse Grade 6 Band 1)
- 4 to 6 weeks annual leave with 14%-17.5% loading
- 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation

- Qualification: Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent certification relevant to the position is mandatory.
- Nursing: Appointment to this position requires proof of qualification and registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and possession of a current practising certificate.
- Appointment to this position requires proof of qualification and registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and possession of a current practising certificate.
- Appointment or have the ability to readily obtain appointment as an Authorised Mental Health Practitioner under the Mental Health Act 2016 would be highly regarded.
- All employees of the MHSG may be required to work in other areas of the Service.
- Drivers Licence: This position requires the incumbent to operate a class C motor vehicle and an appropriate license endorsement to operate this vehicle is required.
- This is a Vaccine Preventable Disease (VPD) risk role. Hepatitis B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Tuberculosis.
- Probation period may apply.
- Pre-employment checks will be conducted.
