What's on offer?
Pro rata remuneration package based on full-time equivalent value of up to $166,569 p.a.

  • Salary range: $64.64 - $69.55 p.h. (+ applicable allowances/benefits) (HP4).
  • 4 to 6 weeks annual leave with 14%-17.5% loading and 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation.
  • Plus great Salary Sacrificing options and flexible working arrangements may be available.

About the role
The Department of Social Work within The Townsville Hospital and Health Service provides comprehensive Social Work services as an integral part of its health care delivery system.

The purpose of this Senior Social Worker role is to provide high level Social Work services and management of all patients on the residential aged care and NDIS pathways. This position will deliver high level clinical social work services working both within a multidisciplinary environment and across a number of wards and clinics.

Role requirements

  • The successful applicant must hold at least a tertiary degree (or equivalent) qualification in social work that provides eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).
  • Roster: The incumbent understands and agrees to participation in clinical on-call arrangements (including the Department's Emergency Clinical On-call Roster, which requires a 30 minute response time), shift work (including early, late and night), as well as weekends and public holidays.
  • Blue Card Checks: Potential applicants are advised that the Commission for Children and Young People and Child Guardian Act 2000 requires Queensland Health to seek a ‘working with children check' from the Commission for Children and Young People and Child Guardian prior to appointment to this position.
