Townsville Hospital and Health Service are seeking a Registered Nurse to join the Ambulatory Oncology team at the Townsville University Hospital in a Temporary part-time role up to 12 months, working 64 hours per fortnight.

Join a dynamic team providing high quality, patient-centred nursing care to oncology patients under the care of haematology, medical oncology, radiation oncology and associated medical teams within Ambulatory Oncology Clinics.

About the opportunity
The successful applicant will be supported in obtaining relevant skills and knowledge to enhance their career advancement in their chosen direction, through internal and external education, the support of an Oncology Nurse Educator and an active in-service program. They will also be members of a broader Oncology Nursing Team of Ambulatory Oncology where they will interact regularly with members of Oncology Day Unit, Radiation Clinics, Cancer Care Coordination and Clinical Trials.

Competitive salary and benefits:

We offer attractive remuneration packages and generous leave entitlements.

  • Salary range: $41.73 to $53.53 p.h. (NG5)
  • 4 to 6 weeks annual leave (pro rata) with 14%-17.5% loading
  • 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation
  • Plus Salary Sacrificing options may be available
  • Add in about flexible working arrangements if applicable to role or hiring manager

Requirements:

  • Qualification: Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent certification relevant to the position is mandatory.
  • Highly Desirable:
    • Experience in Oncology Outpatient Setting relevant to the role.
    • Antineoplastic Drug Administration: Must be able to obtain and then maintain an annual competency in Antineoplastic Drug Administration.
    • Possession of or working towards a relevant post-registration and/or tertiary qualifications in Oncology nursing will be well regarded.
  • Appointees will be required to work all shifts in accordance with the unit roster, which will include participation in an on-call roster.
