Audit and Risk Management Committee
The Audit and Risk Management Committee(ARMC) is a discretionary committee established under sections 30(1) and 23(3) of the Financial and Performance Management Standard 2019 (FPMS) and acts as an independent advisory body to the Public Trustee of Queensland to assist in the effective discharge of the responsibilities of the position as contained in the FPMS, Financial Accountability Act 2009, Financial Accountability Regulation 2019 and other relevant legislation. Roles and responsibilities of members are outlined in the Committee's Terms of Reference that align with Queensland Treasury Audit Guidelines, Improving accountability and performance (October 2023)

As an Independent Member, you'll be known for your integrity, diplomacy and honest approach, strong interpersonal skills and your ability to provide timely, measured advice to support QPT to achieve its objectives. Members should demonstrate the following skills and expertise:
•thorough understanding of accounting and auditing standards including a highlevel of competency in financial reporting and analysis of complex financialreports supported by relevant recognised qualifications;
•strong leadership and stakeholder management skill, including the ability tomanage relationships with QPT's assurance providers, internal and externalaudit;
•high level understanding of governance frameworks including accountabilityrequirements, performance management, service delivery, legislative andpolicy requirements;
•high level understanding in the application of risk management frameworksincluding identification, monitoring, and management;
•high level understanding in the application of internal control principles andprocesses including the key elements of control effectiveness andmethodologies of assessment;
•high level of knowledge in effective project governance and management,including information and communication technology (ICT) projectmanagement and emerging technology; and
•thorough understanding of the core activities of QPT and the industry andenvironment in which it operates including its strengths, weaknesses,opportunities, and threats.
While not mandatory, relevant professional qualifications in an accounting, legal, risk management, audit and compliance, cyber security, corporate governance or human resources management related field is highly desirable.
Prior experience as a member of an Audit and Risk Committee in a government or human services environment, would also be highly regarded.
