• Lead the development of legislation including analysis of complex regulatory reform, agricultural, biosecurity, fisheries and forestry regulation, analysis of regulatory and policy options, and where appropriate negotiation of recommended outcomes.
• Work closely with DAF business units to progress legislation which reflects the Government's priorities.
• Provide advice to senior departmental managers, senior executives and the Minister concerning complex regulatory reform issues including ensuring that legislation is appropriate and effective and assist in the interpretation of legislative proposals.
• Prepare drafting instructions, submissions, reports, correspondence and briefs on complex regulatory and policy issues.
• Engage with stakeholders, particularly with other business groups in the department and with other government agencies such as the Office of Queensland Parliamentary Council and the Office of Best Practice Regulation in regulatory development.
• Coordinate and manage workflows to deliver projects within agreed specifications.
