• Provide economic advice, public policy insights and analysis to ensure the department and government is responsive to Natural Resources, Mines and Energy portfolio areas.

• Prepare briefings and advice for the Minister, the Director-General, senior management and stakeholders on the market situation and outlook for natural resources.

• Deliver projects and support multi-disciplinary project teams, and provide direction, to deliver policy outcomes that are consistent with the overall policy direction of the Queensland Government.

• Prepare and/or contribute to the preparation of complex reports, submissions, briefing notes, legislation, presentations, speeches, publications and correspondence for consideration by executive management.

• Work collaboratively with colleagues and with other levels of government, industry and non-government organisations to achieve policy outcomes and deliver on Government commitments.

• Represent the Department at meetings, committees and interdepartmental working groups as required.
