    The role of Co-Responder officer is to provide diversionary support to young offenders subject to youth justice intervention, or those at risk of entering the youth justice system, with the aim of preventing offending and reducing re-offending.

    The Co-Responder officer will work collaboratively as part of the Co-Responder Team comprising of the Department of Youth Justice and the Queensland Police Service (QPS). The Co Responder officer will provide support and coordinate service delivery to ensure the required actions and referrals for young people at risk, are undertaken in a timely and efficient manner.

    This position will require working in a QPS environment including watchhouse and station, with dedicated QPS officers in unmarked police cars and in the office, to connect with young people and families, patrol hotspots and link in internal and external stakeholders.
