This role will lead a team based in multiple locations (Charleville, Toowoomba and Brisbane) that regulates the sustainable harvest of macropods in Queensland.
QPWS&P proactively manages and monitors environmental risks through a modern and innovative regulatory framework that includes assessment, compliance, investigation and enforcement programs and leads and oversees the day-to-day management of the team tasked with managing the sustainable harvest of macropods across Queensland. The commercial and non commercial harvesting of macropods involves taking animals from the wild to be utilised. Commercially harvested macropods are used to produce high quality leather and meat products for the domestic and international markets.

This role's focus area is the management of protected areas within diverse landscapes including areas of high visitation and high urban interface, including Burleigh Head, Nerang, Tamborine National Parks and Pine Ridge Conservation Park.
The position is responsible for supervising the Rangers in Charge at the bases, as well as the Project Ranger, providing support and strategic direction to the operational crews and coordinating emergency response across this area.
