We are looking for an experienced and forward-thinking Manager to lead the Development Assessment and Archaeology (DAA) team within the Heritage Branch, to administer Queensland’s heritage protection framework. The DAA team is responsible for development assessment and decision-making for State heritage places under provisions of the Queensland Heritage Act 1992 (such as exemption certificates, Heritage agreements and Development by the State for the Queensland Heritage Council).
The team provides technical advice to the State Assessment and Referral Agency (SARA) established under the Planning Act 2016 to input into several other development assessment systems. This position also manages the team’s work associated with important terrestrial and maritime archaeology under the Queensland Heritage Act 1992, and the Underwater Cultural Heritage Act 2018 (Cmth).
