Your key accountabilities Accept incoming fire and other relevant emergency incident calls and enquiries and collect relevant information. Assess the risks associated with a situation and the availability and capability of resources to determine the appropriate response and/or resources to be despatched. Despatch and coordinate appropriate resources to calls for assistance and notify other organisations in accordance with the Communication Doctrine and Directives. Maintain and update all incident information in the centre's computer aided despatch system, continually monitor progress, support and liaise with operational staff until completion of incident. Complete required post incident administration including provision of information and reports to stations and other agencies and organisations. Monitor alarm signals and respond in accordance with Communications Doctrine and Directives. Provide mentoring and guidance on the job to new staff. Contribute to improvement of operational and administrative systems and procedures. Identify systems and technical faults and liaise with Specialist Operational Services Unit in relation to reporting, maintaining and updating communications technology. Undertake general administrative and project duties as allocated eg; maintaining and updating resource information; portfolio activities, regular tests of systems and communications equipment. The Fleet Maintenance is responsible for mechanical services and provides repairs and maintenance of fit for purpose heavy, light and medium commercial fleet vehicles and associated equipment to all members of QFD. Through the full lifecycle management and best practice approach to fleet and equipment management, we ensure all assets and equipment are maintained to meet the complex environment in which they are deployed and utilised, and to meet operational capability and organisational objectives. Reporting to the Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor, you will be required to assist Motor Mechanics with minor repairs, cleaning and scheduled maintenance of QFD fire appliances, pumps, systems and associated equipment to ensure they meet operational capability and comply with the legislative and manufacturers requirements. You will also assist administrative duties to complete job sheets and data entry to meet service delivery requirements, and adhere to workplace health and safety policies and procedures.

Operational Communications provides strategic direction, advice and planning to deliver initiatives for the advancement of frontline communications capability, equipment and infrastructure used by QFD's operational workforce. The team is responsible for the delivery of projects and initiatives to enhance operational communication systems, including radio, cellular and satellite systems and manage ongoing contracts with government wireless network vendors and other service providers. The team also provides direct support with specialist communications equipment and personnel to support field-based operations as required, including deploying at short notice to incidents and disasters to meet operational capability requirements. Reporting to the Principal Program Officer, you will be a key member of the team, working closely with members of the business unit and stakeholders to provide coordinated administrative and logistics support for a variety of program activities, including, the development and capability of operational radio communications initiatives across the state. You will be responsible for coordinating business processes and ensuring good governance practices to support business operations relating to the maintenance, management and continuous improvement of operational communications across the department.

The Health and Wellbeing team promotes the need for healthy, safe and well workplaces, and is responsible for implementing policies, procedures and guidelines, conducting risk assessments, inspections, investigations and audits, including case managing injured and ill workers. As a key priority the team provides expert advice and support to QFD staff, volunteers and others within our workplaces across the regions or corporate services to meet their obligations through preventing, preparing for, responding to and supporting recovery from the impact of fire and emergency events. Reporting to the Manager, you will provide high-level technical advice and strategic support to regional and/or state managers, staff and volunteers and take a lead role in coaching and developing managers in their effective management of health and safety, wellbeing, illnesses and injuries in building capability across the department in these areas. You will work closely with key stakeholders to identify and manage risks to health and safety, prevent injuries and dangerous situations through proactive strategies and initiatives, providing support to those who are ill or injured, and delivering services such as monitoring the departments' legislative compliance, and contributing to the development of policies and procedures, promoting best practice guidelines in accordance with legislation and departmental policies.

Purpose of the role * Co-ordination and implementation of the building approval processes in compliance with legislative requirements. * Provide public education and fire prevention advice in regions. * Inspect building special fire services and alternative solutions to ensure compliance with relevant requirements. * Provide professional Community Safety advice and assistance in relation to building development. Your key accountabilities * Co-ordinate the building approval process of technical and engineering submissions and analyse their application to ensure proposals are relevant and accurate. * Evaluation of plans and specifications for compliance with referral jurisdiction, regulations, Australian standards, codes and QFD policy requirements including assessment of proposed performance based solutions in relation to Community Safety compliance. * Inspection of building special fire services for compliance with building development approvals, regulations, Australian standards, QFD policy requirements and engineering design solutions. * Maintain a comprehensive and expert working knowledge of relevant legislation, codes, standards and policies and; keep up to date with Community Safety Operations initiatives nationally and internationally. * Represent QFD to industry, community and government groups to ensure a positive image of the QFD; effectively resolve Community Safety matters and maintain working relationships with all key stakeholders. * Provide professional advice and information to internal and external clients relating to Community Safety Operations matters. * Maintain operational skills and competence to ensure that operational response requirements are effectively fulfilled. * Assist in the training and development of QFD officers regarding Community Safety Operations matters, particularly in relation to the Building Maintenance Inspection Program, Building Approval Office
