Principal Advisor


Capacity Management Group; Custodial Operations; Brisbane

The Capacity Management Group leads system level planning, projects, activities and initiatives associated with capacity management across QCS.

It provides leadership and promotes best practice in the prioritisation and sequencing of effort, delivering timely, valued and connected change for matters related to capacity management for QCS.

The group is also responsible for the coordination, monitoring and effective delivery of a range of operational projects as per a QCS Capacity Management Action Plan.

To deliver this critical work, we are seeking people with strong experience in delivering projects or complex bodies of work, and the organisational skills to set priorities, coordinate activities and meet deadlines.

The Essential Requirements for this role are:

• Demonstrated ability to manage stakeholder relationships and work collaboratively with others. 
• Models professional and ethical behaviour
• Comprehensive experience in strategic and operational planning processes
• Contemporary knowledge of issues and trends associated with correctional operations
• Research and analytical skills for investigating issues and analysing trends associated with correctional practice.
• Proven high level of written communication skills, with experience drafting a range of materials, including presentations, briefing notes, reports, and other formal documents.
• Interpersonal skills for negotiating with stakeholders, who often have competing interests, on sensitive and complex issues.
• Organisational skills with the ability to set priorities, coordinate activities and meet deadlines.
• Detailed and current knowledge of Government and QCS strategic directions, objectives, as well as a sound knowledge of relevant legislative and statutory requirements, particularly related to custodial and correctional operations. 
• Research and analytical skills for investigating issues and analysing trends associated with corrections.
