Your contribution:
As Principal Program Officer, you will be responsible for delivering Environmental Recovery Program/s through the jointly funded Queensland and Australian Government Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements (DRFA). The DRFA provides
financial assistance to help communities, businesses and the environment recover from eligible disaster events.

One of the Environmental Recovery Programs (the Program) this position will be leading is post activation of the Northern and Central Queensland Monsoon and Flooding, 20 December 2022 - 30 April 2023 event. The Program has an allocation of $15 million (under Category D Exceptional Circumstances) to support rehabilitation and restoration of rain and flood-affected environments in order to maintain healthy ecosystems and other environmental values and improve resilience for future disaster events in the Northern and Central Queensland region. The program includes Environmental Investigations, Clean Up, Invasive Species, Biodiversity Conservation and Riverine Recovery activities. A key focus of the role will be engagement with first nations peoples, government agencies and other external stakeholders, build and maintain relationships and cultivate support for thedevelopment, implementation and delivery of environmental projects. More generally, the Principal Program Officer will be responsible for leading the administration of the Program, including project assessment, grant and procurement management, evaluation and reporting, communication, stakeholder engagement and governance.
