Head of Department - Curriculum - Longreach School of Distance Education

We invite applications for the role of LSODE Secondary Head of Department (Curriculum) for Year 7-10. This is a temporary full time position starting in January 2025 and ending December 2025.
The LSODE Head of Department Curriculum will be working with 2 other Heads of Department based at Charleville SDE and Mount Isa School of the Air. The focus of this position will be threefold: Curriculum, Engagement and Pedagogy. Ability to work in a team and have excellent communication skills is essential, as you will be working across the Secondary 7-10 space across three schools in the Western Alliance.
Experience in the Distance Education environment would be advantageous as you would understand the intricacies of the role.

- Lead the school department to develop, articulate and commit to a shared educational vision focussed on providing quality learning outcomes for all students.
- Embed socially just practices in daily school life.
- Set high standards for student and staff performance.
- Actively participate in lifelong learning and ongoing professional development.
- Form partnerships with students, parents, other government agencies, and community groups.
A mandatory requirement of this role is:
- Current full registration, or current provisional registration with eligibility for full registration, as a teacher in Queensland. Information on registration requirements is available at www.qct.edu.au or on toll free 1300 720 944.
