We are seeking an experienced and dedicated professional to supervise staff and coordinate projects to monitor and evaluate pest management programs on protected area, forest estate and marine parks through the state.
The projects will support Queensland Parks and Wildlife activities and provide technical and professional advice and support on ecological management.

As the Principal Conservation Officer, you will:
• Lead and coordinate a state-wide network of staff involved in nature conservation projects and programs in pest management programs on protected area, forest estate and marine parks throughout the state.
• Mentor staff involved in pest management.
• Provide strategic direction for pest management related activities at the regional and state level.
• Coordinate projects and assist in design, gathering and analysing data and information, and reporting relevant to pest management on protected area, forest estate and marine parks.
• Provide detailed, accurate and timely reports, presentations, training, ministerial responses, internal and external correspondence as directed and as situations demand.
• Establish and maintain effective liaison, consultation and negotiations with Regions, internal and external research groups, Government Departments and other stakeholders.
• Foster a workplace culture that supports and promotes the interests of First Nations people and actively engage through our work to contribute to better outcomes for First Nations people.
