Your new opportunity:
Queensland Treasury is seeking a motivated Senior Accountant to join our Corporate Accounting and Operations team. In this role, you will deliver high-quality financial accounting services, oversee tax compliance under an outsourced operating model, and contribute to innovative business capabilities. This is your chance to work in a dynamic environment where your expertise will enhance Treasury's financial governance and performance.
In this role, you will:
• Provide professional and specialist advice to internal and external stakeholders on financial accounting, operations, reporting, and taxation matters.
• Ensure the timely and accurate production of financial statements and actively participate in the external audit financial statement program.
• Build and maintain strong, constructive relationships with key stakeholders.
• Contribute to continuous improvement in service delivery and decision-making processes.
• Deliver financial accounting services while fostering a skilled, motivated and productive work team.
What experience you will bring:
• Outstanding judgement with high-level integrity, ethics, and professionalism.
• The ability to adapt to a changing environment with a strong achievement orientation.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• A comprehensive understanding of financial accounting to assist in the timely and accurate production of financial statements.
• Good knowledge of accounting standards, legislation, and policies applicable to Queensland Government departments.
• Strong accounting, reporting, and analytical skills, along with excellence in client service delivery.
There are no mandatory qualifications needed for this role, however, relevant qualifications in accounting are highly regarded.
