Project Officer

This role supports delivery of the Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service capital works and maintenance programs, within the Program Management Unit (PMU) of Asset Services. The PMU team is responsible for the financial management and performance reporting for asset management programs. This position will provide administrative support to asset management committees at both a State and Region/Branch level. The role will undertake a range of administrative, financial, and human resource support for Assets Services, including updating data in IT systems for the capital works and maintenance programs.

As the Project Officer, you will:
• Participate in a multi-disciplinary team to develop, implement, and continuously improve strategies and systems for asset management in protected areas, state forests and marine parks.
• Provide advice and assistance to regional staff, other department staff and external stakeholders on asset management issues.
• Assist in the development of policies and operating procedures relating to management of asset management on protected areas, state forests and marine parks.
• Assist the Unit Manager to represent the Department at industry forums, interdepartmental and other committees.
• Prepare briefings, reports, minutes, recommendations and correspondence and answer inquiries on asset management issues.
• Provide general administrative support to the unit.
• Foster a workplace culture that supports and promotes the interests of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and actively engage through our work to contribute to better outcomes for First Nations peoples of Australia.
