Principal Cloud Operations Specialist

• Support development teams and new projects through the planning, design and implementation of cloud infrastructure and platform solutions as required
• Enhance systems operations, with a focus on automation and cost optimization
• Oversee the selection and implementation of orchestration tooling for the purpose of cloud operations optimization
• Provide technical advice and support regarding the use of Microsoft cloud services and platforms
• Research and monitor Microsoft 365 / Azure and AWS roadmaps for the implementation of new cloud capabilities and evolution of existing services
• Maintain cloud platform effectiveness, specifically Microsoft 365 and Azure, through the identification and recommendation of improvements

Within the context of the role accountabilities described in About the Role, the most suitable applicant will demonstrate their applied knowledge, skills and experiences against these essential role requirements of the Team Leader leadership stream:
- A background in the design and development of cloud infrastructure and platforms, including significant experience operating in a technical lead capacity, ideally in a Microsoft environment
- Experience in the design and implementation of enterprise systems using structured architectural and software development methodologies and industry proven patterns and practices
- Experience in acting as a technical leader, managing small projects and proof-ofconcept exercises to validate technology and methods, while influencing stakeholders and driving business innovation
- Proficient communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to successfully operate within a highly regulated environment with experience in the interpretation and application of legislation, policies, and procedures
- Solid understanding of the various software development lifecycle methodologies (Waterfall, Agile, Hybrid) with a focus on quality assurance activities and efficient development processes
- Highly developed technical documentation skills
- Proficient knowledge of current and emerging technologies and their potential application, in addition to being open-minded and technically creative
Mandatory requirements:
The following mandatory requirements apply to this role:
- A degree level qualification in information technology or computer science is highly regarded
- Possession of Microsoft Certification is highly desirable.
- Solid experience in the Microsoft 365 platform; specifically, the messaging & collaboration Services (Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, Exchange Online)
- Technical experience and knowledge in Azure Cloud Services, Virtual Servers, Networking Concepts, Data Management and Disaster Recovery.
