Cleveland Education and Training Centre is located within the Cleveland Youth Detention Centre and our staff have the responsibility to build trusting relationships with the young people, to encourage them to achieve success and self-respect, to acquire the knowledge, skills and attitudes that will help them make positive life choices and open up pathways where they can be reintegrated into society as successful citizens.

Step Into Your Next Chapter:

We deliver education programs for 48 weeks of the year, which requires staff to operate on rotations where leave allocation falls outside the mainstream school holiday periods.

This is a permanent full-time position Monday to Friday on a rotating roster: Week 1: 6.30am to 3.15pm Week 2: 7.15am to 4.00pm; Week 3 – 7:30am to 4:00pm.

  • Working under established guidelines, you will resolve routine issues independently and refer more complex matters to the Principal or Business Manager for guidance.
  • Provide general administrative and support services as directed by the Principal or Business Manager.
  • Perform reception duties, including answering phone and counter enquiries, scheduling appointments, managing correspondence, and maintaining accurate school records.
  • Manage student enrolments, departures, daily absences, and assist with student reporting.
  • Process incoming and outgoing mail and emails.
  • Use Microsoft Office programs proficiently, particularly Word and Excel (experience highly regarded).
  • Ensure compliance with departmental and school policies, procedures, and legislative requirements.
  • Collaborate effectively with other members of the administrative team.
  • Assist with Accounts Payable alongside other staff.
  • Undertake other appropriate duties as directed by your supervisor or delegate.
