Please note this position requires the Home Care Workers to reside in Cunnamulla, Thargomindah or nearby to fulfill the requirements of this role.

Your opportunity

The Home Care Worker, at Cunnamulla and Thargomindah, Western Queensland, provides basic support services that assist eligible clients to live independently in their own home within the Cunnamulla and Thargomindah communities.

Basic household domestic tasks include (but not limited to): 

  • Keeping kitchen and appliances clean.
  • Ensuring hygiene areas e.g. bathroom / toilet are clean.
  • Vacuuming and mopping floors.
  • Washing, hanging out and/or bringing in.
  • Other support activities as referred by My Aged Care such as Social Support, Meal Delivery, Personal Care, transport and assisted shopping.

The very nature of what we do and who we are is the real opportunity. Providing health care support in the bush is full of challenges, however, it remains the most rewarding of human experiences.

Cunnamulla - If you are looking for a sea change, you might find your home away from home in the outback town of Cunnamulla. Surfing the sand dunes, relaxing in the artesian springs nearby, having a mudbath at Eulo, exploring national parks and fishing the Warrego river are all on the agenda in this red dirt outback escape.

Thargomindah -  is situated along the Adventure Way, and lies on the banks of the Bulloo River approximately 1,000 kilometres west of Brisbane. Thargomindah Community Clinic is a place where you can embrace the challenge and autonomy of working remotely. Take a step back from the hustle and bustle of city life and enjoy the vast landscapes and laid back lifestyle of this small country town, where you will quickly become part of the community you care for.
