About the Team
The Activity Based Funding and Performance Analysis team at Children's Health Queensland plays a vital role in supporting the organisation's financial and operational goals. By providing expert analysis, reporting, and strategic advice, the team helps optimise funding, improve service delivery, and enhance efficiency across the health service. Working closely with clinical and executive leaders, the team ensures data-driven decisions support the delivery of high-quality, sustainable care for children and young people
About the Role
In this role you will deliver quality outcomes for children, young people and families (Leader of Self) in accordance with the Children's Health Queensland Leadership Excellence Framework and the Queensland Public Service and the CHQ values. Your contribution will include:
- Provide expert advisory support on activity based funding matters, offering strategic guidance and practical recommendations to leadership and clinical teams to optimise funding, resource use, and service delivery.
- Deliver high-quality analysis of complex healthcare data by interrogating organisational information systems to provide timely operational reports and insights that support strategic, Executive, and Clinical decision-making, with a focus on improving health outcomes for Queensland children.
- Develop productive relationships with stakeholders relevant to Activity Based Funding, providing effective ABF advice including productivity and efficiency performance reviews. Liaise with clinical staff and team members to better understand patient activities and resource utilisation, recommending refinements to improve the accuracy and quality of clinical costing.
- Lead the development and implementation of business intelligence tools, including dashboards and scorecards, that empower teams to actively monitor and manage their ABF drivers, such as casemix variation, supporting informed decision-making and performance improvement.
