Community Corrections supervises adult offenders across Queensland, aiming to reduce reoffending and improve public safety. Operating from offices in seven regions, including metropolitan, rural, and remote areas, the teams support individuals in fulfilling community-based orders and making positive life changes.

As a Probation Services Officer, you'll play a vital role in encouraging pro-social behaviours, promoting rehabilitation, and contributing to safer communities across Queensland.

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:

  • The ability to manage tasks effectively, meet deadlines, and work both independently and as part of a team
  • Proven experience in engaging with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders to support service delivery
  • A strong awareness of sensitive issues and a commitment to maintaining privacy and complying with relevant legislation
  • Well-developed communication skills, including the ability to conduct difficult conversations, resolve issues, and negotiate positive outcomes

Additional Information:

  • While formal qualifications are not mandatory, tertiary qualifications in human services disciplines are highly regarded
  • Successful applicants appointed on will be required to complete the Certificate IV in Correctional Practice (Community). All associated activities and assessments must be completed within 12 months of commencement, with full certification achieved within 18 months.
  • Must hold a current C class driver's licence
  • The successful applicant will be required to undertake training relevant to the operational demands of the role, which may include urinalysis testing, court-related duties, and other training as identified by the relevant delegate to support effective service delivery within the district.
