Southern Region Command, Custodial Operations Division is responsible for the delivery of custodial services across Queensland. People in custody are supervised in either high or low security correctional centres. High security centres provide for the management of adult prisoners held in secure custody correctional centres across Queensland.

In this role you will ensure a high level of community safety through managing the assessment and treatment of offenders incarcerated or subject to community-based supervision at dedicated delivery sites. This role also provides advice, recommendations and practice supervision in relation to assessment processes and program delivery at a local level.
The primary accountabilities of the Senior Program Delivery Officer include:
- Supervise, motivate and encourage the professional practice of staff in the performance of their duties
- Facilitate the training and professional development needs of staff, appraise performance and provide feedback to staff
- Coach and develop staff to effectively conduct their duties
- Maintain own level knowledge of legislation, policies and procedures relevant to managing staff
- Maintain own knowledge of contemporary management practices
- Completion of Agency Supervisor training
- Contribute to the knowledge base of the team
- Ensure all programs are supervised by an appropriately experienced and qualified supervisor
- Ensure programs are delivered in accordance with Accountability Standards
- Undertake supervision across relevant program areas and support and monitor the provision of peer supervision where relevant
- Complete any required facilitator training to ensure current understanding of effective program delivery approaches
- Coordinate offender program activities and work with regional management to ensure the appropriate allocation of workload.
- Work with sites to implement program delivery plans which ensure performance targets are met.
- Ensure maintenance, accuracy and appropriateness of records and intervention reports for appropriate authorities
- Ensure officers' compliance with legislation and Agency procedures for the management of offenders
- Monitor and audit offender program practices and records to ensure quality, continuity and consistency
- Ensure records and data for the Integrated Offender Management system (IOMs) are accurate and current
- Ensure the security of files and appropriate access to the files by relevant staff and approved external agencies
- Identify and respond appropriately to risks related to effective and efficient program delivery
- Promote value of offender programs
- Monitor program delivery to ensure performance targets are met
- Ensure high quality specialised assessment and intervention reports through established review processes
- Ensure the timely provision of advice to courts, boards and other agencies regarding offenders' participation in programs
- Ensure the timely provision of reports to courts and boards on relevant offender issues
- Build Completion of mandatory training for relevant programs
- Maintain own level of knowledge of contemporary offender programs research and practices
- Deliver general and / sexual offending programs in accordance with endorsed program schedules
- Maintain own level of knowledge of legislation, policy and procedures in relation to offender management
- Provide advice to the relevant Manager regarding any emerging risks to program delivery
- Engage with relevant community agencies and support services
- Promote value of the program services to custodial / community stakeholders
- Ensure the timely provision of reports to courts and boards on relevant offender issues.
- Promote options for evidence-based offender programs activities with relevant agencies
- Build partnerships with relevant service providers and stakeholders and collaborate with community agencies to develop and deliver offender programs initiatives
