About the role
- The purpose of this role is to direct the functions of the Outpatient Services at the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital (RBWH) to ensure cost effective management and planning of outpatient services across RBWH, through the coordination and management of outpatient operations to ensure quality, safe, effective, appropriate, timely and efficient patient cantered care, through a model of collaborative leadership.
- This role also provides expert strategic advice to:
- The Executive Director CC&CSS and RBWH Executive on potential improvements to outpatients systems and processes
- Executive management teams at other facilities operating outpatient services
- Nursing Director, Outpatient Strategies, Healthcare Excellence and Innovation, Metro North
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:
- Provide strategic leadership and direction to the RBWH Outpatient Services to achieve operational and strategic reform, innovation and redesign initiatives for outpatient services in line with Metro North Hospital and Health Service (MNHHS) objectives and state-wide specialist outpatient service initiatives.
- Provide expert contemporary advice, leadership and advanced speciality knowledge to provide efficient and effective patient centred outpatient services by:
- Maximising utilisation of resourced capacity and the available infrastructure.
- Designing, developing, implementing and evaluating innovative models of care in collaboration with key stakeholders.
- Advocating and contributing to budget integrity by enabling appropriate service resourcing to support resource requirement and achieve schedule expectations, targets/Key Performance Indicators (KPls) to meet service needs.
- Collaborating with stakeholders to enable the provision of effective and coordinated clinical services to meet service targets and key performance indicators and workforce needs.
- Provide expert advice to the organisation and RBWH incident commander for outpatient impacts regarding emergency incident issues such as ICT prolonged outages, natural disasters or extended pandemics.
