About the role
It is the purpose of this role to contribute to the effective operation of the Adis 24/7 Alcohol and Drug Support through the provision of interventions using a variety of mediums including screening, information, advice, counselling, referral and consultancy to individuals accessing the service in relation to alcohol, tobacco and other drug use or those seeking information about health services. This position also contributes to the overall effectiveness of the Service through the provision of written publications to individuals and agencies.
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:
- Maintain a current knowledge of the policies and structure within the Metro North Hospital and Health
- Provide interventions via a variety of mediums (primarily telephone), including screening, information, advice, counselling, referral and consultancy in a timely manner to clients of the Service throughout Queensland utilising ethical and best practice standards and policies.
- Deliver structured interventions to drug and alcohol clients, including those who have entered the service via the criminal justice system.
- Develop and maintain a knowledge of contemporary standards and policies in the treatment of alcohol, tobacco and other drug dependence and their application in a telephone intervention environment.
