About Our Social Work and Support Services
The Social Work Services work across all clinical directorates of Gold Coast Health with acute teams based throughout Gold Coast University Hospital (GCUH), Robina Hospital and Tugun Satellite Health Centre. Social Work Services actively encourages and supports the development of a range of social work clinical specialties such as child protection; women's, newborn and children; trauma; rehabilitation; aged care; cancer care; grief and bereavement; multicultural health and domestic and family violence.
About your new role
As a valued member of the Social Work Services team, you will deliver social work services to patients and families to a designated service/ inpatient unit and as a member of a multidisciplinary team. Clinical work undertaken will be of a varied nature and will require service provision to patients, their families/ carers, and other key stakeholders. This includes
- Undertaking comprehensive discharge planning and implement interventions
- Utilising knowledge and understanding of the biopsychosocial framework of practice in a hospital setting
- As experience builds, routinely apply increasingly independent clinical judgement to more complex clinical decision making
Qualifications
- Eligibility for membership to the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW)
- University level Social Work degree accredited by the AASW
- Blue card / Working with children check (GCH will cover cost)
- Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B
- Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
- Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
- Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

Salary
- Permanent full time, permanent part time, Temporary full time, Temporary part time (multiple positions, hours negotiable, up to 12 months with the possibility of extension)
- Base salary ranging from $79 051 - $ 116 189 per annum or $39.86 - $58.59 per hour
