QBuild is a commercialised business unit of the Queensland Government.  It has been Queensland Government's builder for over 160 years, playing an important role in communities across the state by building and maintaining government-owned assets such as schools, social housing, police stations and correctional and health facilities.

About the role

Your role within QBuild will support the department to partner with Queensland Government agencies to deliver their core services, by providing state-wide planning, building, maintenance, and disaster response services that utilise local suppliers and QBuild tradespeople and apprentices. The work you do helps someone every day, and that means the world to us.

The primary purpose of the position is to provide high-level administrative support to QBuild. This may include undertaking a range of business research, analysis, reporting, implementation, and administrative activities to support the development and delivery of QBuild services, in line with operational plans and objectives.

Duties and skills involved:

  • Provide efficient and high standards of customer service to QBuild customers
  • Undertake travel bookings including flights, accommodation, charters, ferries, and car hire within required timeframes
  • Monitor and manage internal and external correspondence, telephone calls, and ensure timely responses
  • Work effectively in a fast-paced environment with KPIs and performance monitoring
  • Connect with industry, local suppliers, and stakeholders to support timely service delivery
  • Demonstrate professionalism and contribute positively to team culture while performing recurring work
  • Be dedicated to customer satisfaction and develop outcomes that meet both customer and business objectives
  • Ensure accuracy when compiling documents, reports, and updating systems (Ellipse and Microsoft Office)
  • Show initiative and handle enquiries to senior staff in their absence within expected timeframes
  • Develop and maintain procedures, manuals, and registers, and contribute to improving existing processes
  • Undertake general administration functions as required
