We are looking for a Senior Biosecurity Officer to join our high-performance team at Biosecurity QLD– Animal Biosecurity and Welfare Operational team.
o addressing issues of high biosecurity risk/complexity and/or requiring a level of specialist technical capability
o gathering evidence to assist investigations of potential legislative breaches (e.g., field observations, sample collection, witness statements/interviews)

As our Senior Biosecurity officer, you will provide operational services that protect and enhance animal biosecurity and welfare in Queensland.

You will know you're achieving success in the role when you:
• Are undertaking compliance activities under Queensland legislation Animal Care and Protection Act 2001 and the Biosecurity Act 2014.
• Have thorough knowledge and skills relating to administration and compliance with relevant legislation and associated internal procedures and systems (e.g., exercise of powers, auditing, investigation, conducting interviews, collecting evidence and witness statement, and preparing court briefs, use of BQ Case Management).
• Are a participant and contribute to disease surveillance and emergency responses activities, which may include collection of samples from the live and deceased animal.
