As a Natural Resource Management Officer, you'll play a key role in supporting the delivery of Queensland's vegetation management framework within the Lands division. Based in Mount Isa, Cloncurry or Dalby (with other business centres considered), you'll be part of a regional team responsible for assessing vegetation management enquires, presenting at workshops, attending and or coordinating field days, and providing advice to landholders and stakeholders to support compliance and understanding of vegetation management requirements.

Each day will bring variety, from interpreting mapping, to preparing responses and correspondence that support well-informed decisions under the Vegetation Management Act 1999. You'll provide clear and consistent advice to stakeholders, support senior officers to meet organisational targets, and contribute to business improvement initiatives that enhance the department's service delivery.

The teams activities include supporting the monitoring and reporting of vegetation clearing, participating in audits and investigations, and working collaboratively with colleagues across the state to achieve consistency in applying policy and legislation. You'll develop knowledge in vegetation management, mapping interpretation, engagement activities and compliance procedures while working closely with experienced officers and team leaders who will guide your professional development.

You'll thrive in this role if you have strong communication and problem-solving skills, enjoy working with both data and people, and are motivated by the opportunity to contribute to the management of Queensland's land and vegetation resources.
