Principal Adviser Re-entry Housing
Offender Rehabilitation & Management; Specialist Operations; Re-Entry Servies; Brisbane
In this role you will be responsible for state-wide program management of re-entry services, including developing, implementing and monitoring of service delivery to offenders. It must ensure that contracted services are delivered as intended in terms of overall outcomes sought by the Agency, and that they are provided in accordance with relevant standards, performance indicators, agreed outputs and program outcomes within agreed timeframes.
In addition, this position provides training, professional development and support to Agency staff and contracted providers delivering and supervising re-entry services within operations areas. Travel throughout Queensland is also a core component for this position.

This role is a Team Leader under the Leadership Competencies for Queensland framework.
Within the context of the role accountabilities described in About the Role, the most suitable applicant will demonstrate their applied knowledge, skills and experiences against these essential role requirements of the Team Leader leadership stream:
• Exposure to the criminal justice system and experience in program design, develop and implementation in a complex human service environment.
• Ability to apply and interpret best practice literature, legislation, policy and procedures.
• Demonstrated experience in program management Lifecyle and contracted service provision.
• Experience in monitoring, evaluating and reviewing service provision to deliver outcomes against agreed targets/key performance indicators.
• Demonstrated ability to undertake major research activities, interpret data and prepare detailed and comprehensive reports.
• Well-developed written and oral communication skills, including high level interpersonal skills and ability to negotiate successful outcomes in human service context.
• Sound understanding and application of rehabilitation, reintegration and housing models and techniques.
• Skills and experience in the preparation of reports and complex written documentation within a structured framework that is guided by legislation and procedures on highly confidential matters.
• Organisational skills with the ability to set priorities, coordinate activities and meet deadlines.
• Research and analytical skills for investigating issues and analysing trends associated with the management of prisoners transitioning to the community.
• Demonstrated negotiation, relationship management and conflict resolution skills for liaising with senior management, staff and internal and external stakeholders, to gain commitments and negotiate service delivery, priorities, deadlines, resources and other relevant issues.
