As a Compliance Coordinator, you will play a vital role in ensuring adherence to biosecurity legislation by investigating alleged breaches, providing expert advice, & fostering voluntary compliance through stakeholder engagement & education. You will lead & support compliance, investigation, & enforcement activities, while mentoring team members to ensure consistent and proportionate responses to compliance issues. Additionally, you will contribute to the continuous improvement of compliance strategies & build strong relationships with stakeholders to promote biosecurity awareness & support.

Key Responsibilities/Outputs:
• Investigate alleged breaches of legislation, including evidence gathering, conducting interviews, preparing court briefs, and ensuring quality assurance of compliance activities.
• Provide high-level advice to stakeholders and team members on biosecurity matters, supporting education and collaboration programs to encourage voluntary compliance.
• Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders, participate in community engagement activities, and represent the program at biosecurity forums and committees.

Mandatory requirements
• A current unrestricted “C” Class Driver's Licence

You may also have:
· Appointment as a Queensland Biosecurity Authorised Inspector or strong knowledge of the legal requirements of an authorised officer under a relevant Act or Regulation would be highly regarded.
· Experience in explaining compliance requirements to encourage voluntary compliance with biosecurity requirements.
· Excellent information, evidence gathering and analysis skills, including the ability to write up clear report/statements of fact and recommendations.
