The Senior Land Officer plays a key role in the Land and Surveying Services team, contributing to the effective management of Queensland's state land assets. This position focuses on regulatory land tenure and compliance activities on the Great Barrier Reef Tourism Islands, helping ensure land is managed lawfully, sustainably and in the public interest.
In this role, you will provide high-level advice on complex legislative, policy and procedural matters, particularly in relation to non-compliant tenure, native title considerations and land administration requirements. You will be integral in supporting a small team to deliver timely assessments, manage priorities and meet business targets. The role also contributes to policy, process and service improvements, supports local operational planning, and assists with budgets, workforce planning and day-to-day operations.
Success in this role looks like delivering high-quality regulatory outcomes, supporting a capable and engaged team, providing clear and credible advice to stakeholders, and contributing to continuous improvement across land services.
