Brisbane State High School is seeking a Marketing and Events Officer to join its vibrant school community.
The Marketing and Events Officer provides high-level administrative, communication, and technical support
services to facilitate the effective communication and promotion of school activities, programs, and achievements. The role supports the coordination of publications, visual communications, digital content, photography services,
and media-related activities, while maintaining compliance with departmental and school requirements. The applicant must have a working knowledge of contemporary communication technologies and digital platforms.

The Events and Marketing team at Brisbane State High School is collaborative, creative and supportive, working closely with staff, students, parents, alumni and community partners to showcase the many opportunities and achievements that make State High unique.
About the Role
Duties as directed, including but not limited to:
Communications and Publications
- Coordinate the preparation and distribution of newsletters, publications, promotional materials, and school communications
- Coordinate the compilation, editing, production, and distribution of the Annual Magazine
- Develop content for digital and print platforms and maintain communication records and schedules
- Maintain a proactive online and social media presence to promote the school and communicate with the wider community
- Maintain the school Visual Identity Guide and support staff to ensure consistent application
Graphic Design and Visual Communications
- Design and produce promotional resources, signage, digital displays, presentations, posters, and other visual materials
- Ensure materials align with school branding and departmental requirements
- Provide graphic design support for school events and programs
Photography and Media Coordination
- Coordinate photography requirements across school activities and events
- Capture, organise and maintain photographic resources and digital media libraries
- Coordinate school photography processes including liaison with external providers and distribution activities
Media Consent Administration
- Administer media consent processes including collection, recording, storage and monitoring
- Maintain records relating to media permissions and provide advice to staff regarding approved use of media content
Media Crew Coordination
- Coordinate operational activities of the student Media Crew including scheduling, communication and supervision support
- Support students involved in photography, videography and event coverage activities
Website and Digital Platforms
- Maintain school website content to ensure information remains accurate and current
- Coordinate website updates and monitor digital platforms for consistency, accessibility and compliance requirements
Administrative Support and Stakeholder Engagement
- Liaise with staff, students, parents, external providers and community stakeholders
- Maintain effective working relationships and provide responsive customer service
- Undertake administrative duties associated with communication projects and support major school events
- Contribute to continuous improvement activities and undertake other duties as directed
What We Are Looking For
The successful applicant will demonstrate:
- Experience providing administrative and communication support services
- Strong written communication skills with the ability to prepare and edit content
- High attention to detail and strong organisational skills
- Experience with graphic design, photography, digital communications or content management systems
- Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
- Ability to work collaboratively while exercising initiative and judgement within established guidelines
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage sensitive information appropriately
