The Office of the Assistant Commissioner (OAC) is a fast-paced, high-volume environment, with a small team responsible for providing strategic and operational support to the Assistant Commissioner, First Nations and Cultural Capability.

The OAC works closely with key internal stakeholders including, but not limited to, the Office of the Commissioner, the Offices of the Deputy Commissioners, Community Corrections, Custodial Operations, and Organisational Capability to:

  • Proactively identify issues which carry strategic risk and provide advice to the respective Senior Executive
  • Support the respective Senior Executive in achieving strategic objectives in accordance with Corrections 2030
  • Provide support to business units within First Nations and Cultural Capability the respective Senior Executive's directions, expectations and commitments are met.

The Executive Support Officer plays a key role in providing comprehensive, highly organised, and client-focused administrative and executive support services that are both professional and personalised and at a level of confidentiality.

Your role will provide support to members of the Senior Leadership Team of First Nations and Cultural Capability and their direct reports. Duties will include provision of confidential, executive and secretarial support including diary management, email management, managing meetings, book travel, and IT/equipment maintenance. There will be the requirement to undertake duties as requested by the senior executive and may include business support activities including financial and human resources administration as required.

Further, your role will include assisting with the preparation of briefing notes and reports.
