The Role
An opportunity has become available for several Occupational Therapists (Rotational) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 10 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to over 550,000 people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.
 
You will 
  • Undertake routine Occupational Therapy tasks commensurate with level of experience in accordance with well-established clinical and departmental protocols
  • As experience builds, apply increasingly independent clinical judgement to more complex clinical decision making 
  • Participate in quality and service improvement activities within the Occupational Therapy Department
  • Develop clinical practice knowledge and expertise through self-directed learning, active learning within the team
  • Work cooperatively and effectively in a professional manner with multidisciplinary team members, clients and families/carers to achieve a client centred approach 
About you 
To be successful in this position you will require: 
  • Tertiary degree in Occupational Therapy or equivalent 
  • AHPRA Registration
  • Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella (Chicken Pox), Pertussis (Whooping Cough) and Hepatitis B
  • Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
  • Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed

Salary 
  • Temporary full time, temporary part time (several positions, hrs negotiable)
  • Base salary ranging from $2 836.20 - $3 923.90 per fortnight, $37.31 - $51.63 per hour 
About Us 
 
The Occupational Therapy service provides a variety of clinical practice across the emergency, acute, rehabilitation and outpatients areas of the Gold Coast University Hospital (Southport) and Robina Hospital. Occupational Therapists also work within multidisciplinary teams in Community Health, Community Rehabilitation, Transition Care Program, Child Development Service, Home Care and Allied Health Service, Palliative Care and in project areas of Persistent Pain Service and Geriatric Evaluation and Management in the Home (GEMiTH). This service is based at Southport and Robina.
