In this position your main focus area is Visitor Management, you will join the forefront of ecological stewardship and public engagement as an OO5 Ranger, Visitor Management with Queensland's Department of Environment and Science.
This role is perfect for those who are eager to elevate the sustainable interaction between the community and our protected areas. This position is a not an on-park or operational role, though some field work and operational tasks or opportunities may arise.

The impact of your work will resonate beyond the boundaries of our parks, as part of a small, dynamic team, this role is responsible for a range of tasks associated with communicating with and managing, visitors to the protected estate. In this exciting and dynamic role, you will have a range of responsibilities, including but not limited to:
- Ensuring exceptional visitor experiences by developing strategic communication and educational materials that highlight the uniqueness of Queensland's parks and forests.
- Leading and delivering projects focused on the enhancement of visitor infrastructure that are ecologically sensitive and user-friendly.
- Supervising and guiding a dedicated work group, setting the standard for excellence in park management and recreational services.
- Collaborating respectfully with First Nations communities, strengthening partnerships to preserve cultural heritage alongside natural resources.
- Managing advanced technical systems to monitor visitor activities, using data to inform sustainable practices and decision making.
- Providing environmental education to visitors, fostering a culture of conservation and respect for the natural environment.
- Overseeing compliance and permit enforcement within park boundaries, ensuring adherence to environmental policies and legislation.
- Coordinating risk management and emergency response procedures, including natural disaster plans and search and rescue operations, to ensure visitor safety andpark integrity.
