Your new opportunity

As the Senior Officer - RTI and Privacy, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that senior officers of Treasury and the Ministerial portfolio meet their statutory obligations under the Right to Information Act 2009 (RTI Act) and the Information Privacy Act 2009 (IP Act). You will also contribute to the management of Treasury's privacy obligations by assisting in privacy breach management and complaints processes.

In this role, you will:

  • Provide timely and expert guidance on RTI, privacy, and complaints management to relevant business groups.
  • Coordinate and process access applications, ensuring compliance with legislation and providing accurate information to applicants.
  • Make sound and consistent decisions regarding RTI, privacy, and complaints management.
  • Promote a team environment that values performance, customer service, continuous improvement, and innovation.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining contemporary training and awareness programs.
  • Assist with developing frameworks, procedures, and templates for compliant management.
  • Liaise with the Office of the Information Commissioner Queensland.
  • Stay updated on ongoing RTI and Information Privacy changes, policies, practices, and trends.

What experience you will bring:

  • Working knowledge of the RTI Act and IP Act.
  • Strong written and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and with stakeholders.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.

Whilst there are no mandatory qualifications needed for this role, relevant qualifications will be highly regarded.
