We are looking for a biosecurity officer to join our high performing team in Biosecurity Queensland’s Invasive Plants and Animals Operational area to:
• develop and lead regional biosecurity operations directed at the eradication of invasive pest plants and animals in high priority situations in collaboration with relevant stakeholders
• provide expert advice pertaining to the effective use of the Biosecurity Act 2014 and undertake compliance and enforcement to protect Queensland from the threats of invasive species
• contribute to programs for enhancing the skills, knowledge and personal development of stakeholders to enable them to deliver improved invasive species management services
• provide innovative ideas and be part of a great team!

Job details

As our Invasive Plants & Animals biosecurity officer, you will provide operational services that reduce the risks and threats posed by invasive species in Queensland. As part of the South Region team, your efforts will be integral in helping Biosecurity Queensland and stakeholders prevent and respond to pest animal and weed incursions that could threaten our environment and economy.
