This role is flexible in location at Dutton Park, Bribie Island, Toowoomba or Gatton, however, it is a requirement of the role that the successful candidate will work from the Dutton Park location one day per week.

The opportunity
As our Project Officer (Finance and Human Resources), you will:
• Undertake procurement activities in line with departmental policies and procedures, including providing operational advice in relation to engagement of labour hire contractors within the framework of current legislation, policies and procedures.
• Monitor, analyse and evaluate revenue and expenditure (taking corrective action when required) to ensure effective and responsible financial management.
• Assist and prepare the development of the business group annual budget. Monitor the approved budget on a regular basis, providing advice including budget variance analysis to the Senior Finance Officer and both Directors and Project Leaders.
• Assist in the development and maintenance of the financial and project management aspects of contracts. This includes the preparation and monitoring of milestone invoices, collaborator payments and all other revenues and expenses associated with these agreements.
• Support and work collaboratively with the Senior HR Consultant ensuring high quality service and advice across a range of HR activities including recruitment and selection, employee and industrial relations.
• Maintain sound knowledge of contemporary HR management and procurement practices to ensure currency of knowledge and skills and to ensure compliance with current legislation, and whole-of government and departmental policies, procedures and standards.
• Assist in the preparation of financial, procurement and HR documentation, reporting, and associated supporting documentation.
• Provide timely and accurate project management support and advice to staff on human resource, financial and procurement matters. Maintain high level communication and interpersonal skills, relate well to people at all levels, use diplomacy and tact, and, use sound judgement on sensitive and confidential issues

Licences and registrations
• Current ‘C' class drivers licence would be advantageous.

Mandatory qualifications
While there are no mandatory qualifications for this role, it would be beneficial for the successful applicant to possess the following to support the successful performance of the role:
• Level 2 (Intermediate) Procurement certification would be advantageous
