What you will do (key responsibilities/duties):
• Lead and coordinate DAF's budget process, including financial and budgetary management strategies and resource outcomes.
• Lead and manage the preparation of financial information for the State Budget Papers, Cabinet Budget Review Committee submissions, ministerial briefs, Parliamentary estimates papers, internal briefing notes and position papers for DAF.
• Have an extensive knowledge relating to the Financial Accountability Act 2009 and subordinate legislation, and the Australian Accounting Standards in the preparation of financial management information and advice for government agencies.
• Foster continuous innovation and improvement in the development of budgetary and financial management policies, practices and procedures to support DAF's financial service delivery needs.
• Communicate with influence to convey and guide acceptance of complex financial and business ideas to diverse audiences.
• Develop and maintain constructive, collaborative working partnerships and relationships with clients and stakeholders (including departmental service delivery areas and Queensland Treasury) to resolve issues effectively.

What will you bring (qualifications, registrations, experience):
• Accounting qualifications are mandatory, along with the possession of a relevant membership of CPA Australia, the Institute of Chartered Accountants Australia (ICAA), or MIPA status with the Institute of Public Accountants (IPA).
• Extensive experience in management accounting, budgeting and forecasting is essential. Experience in Queensland Government budgetary requirements and processes is highly desired.
• For international qualifications, the applicant will need their qualification assessed, to determine comparability with the Australian Qualifications Framework.
