Clinical Nurse - Diabetes Educator Paediatric Diabetes Service

An exciting opportunity exists for a Clinical Nurse – Diabetes Educator Paediatric Diabetes Service (PDS) to deliver advanced paediatric diabetes care and education within a dynamic and innovative health environment. Practising autonomously, the CN will provide leadership in clinical decision-making and take on professional responsibilities in the absence of the CNC Grade 7. Working within a passionate team, the role focuses on supporting children, young people, and their families to manage diabetes effectively. The successful applicant will be self-directed, energetic, and skilled in building therapeutic relationships. Experience with insulin pumps is essential, and paediatric experience is highly desirable for this specialised role.

Key Responsibilities include:
- Adhere to defined service quality standards, health and safety policies and procedures relating to the work being understand to ensure high quality, safe services and workplaces.
- Fulfil the responsibilities of this role in accordance with Schedule 2, Nurses and Midwives (Queensland Health Award) – State 2015 – Generic Level Statements Nurse Grade 6, Band 1 and the Queensland Public Service values.
- Understand your broad responsibilities for safety and quality in healthcare, actively participate in continuous quality and safety improvement activities within the workplace and notify a relevant clinical or non-clinical responsible officer when concerns exist about workplace or patient safety.
- Practice in accordance with code of ethics, professional standards and legislation affecting nursing practice by maintaining current knowledge and competence within scope of position.
- Support and assist the Midwife Grade 7 to lead the team, drive change processes and assist in the efficient management of human and material resources.
Remuneration based pro rata on equivalent full time value up to $131,900 p.a., comprising salary rates: $54.44 - $58.30 p.h. employer contribution to superannuation (up to 12.75%) and annual leave loading (17.5%) NRG 6 (1) (temporary position available for six months, 48 hrs p.f.).
